(A) Categories of Applicants Eligible to Apply:
- Fresh Law Graduates who have passed the final LLB Examination in the first attempt with minimum of 55% marks.

Bombay High Court Recruitment 2023 Selection Process
The selection process for the Law Clerk position will involve the following steps:

a) Law Clerks shall receive a consolidated amount of Rs. 40,000 per month as Stipend/Honorarium for their assignment. This amount may be revised by the Government from time to time.
b) Law Clerks shall not be entitled to any other allowances and shall not be considered or treated as regular employees of the High Court.
The term of assignment and de-assignment of Law Clerks is as follows:
a) Law Clerks will be appointed on a contractual basis for a period of one year. However, they may be discharged before completion of one year if recommended by the Hon’ble Judge, without assigning any reason.
b) The term of assignment may be extended by a further period of one year if recommended by the Hon’ble Judge, subject to the approval of the Hon’ble Chief Justice.
c) Either side may terminate the appointment by giving one month’s notice or one month’s salary in lieu thereof. This requirement may be waived by the other side.
d) The Hon’ble Chief Justice may terminate the appointment of Law Clerk at any time without notice or compensation if their services are found to be unsatisfactory or if they violate any of these Rules.

a) Law Clerks are not allowed to practice as Advocates in any Court of Law or Tribunal while working as a Law Clerk. It is mandatory for them to inform the concerned Bar Council in writing that they will not practice as an Advocate during the assignment as a Law Clerk. b) After the completion of their assignment, Law Clerks are prohibited from practicing before the Hon’ble Judge they were attached to, for a period of one year. c) If the Law Clerk had worked on a case, they are not entitled to appear in that case handled by the Hon’ble Judge to whom they were attached.
